Jack McDowell's Prairie Appreciation Ride
Bicyclists can enjoy the beauty of plants such as Prairie Dock, Butterfly Weed, Royal Catchfly, and Prairie Coneflower; and tall grasses, such as Big Bluestem and Indiangrass. Your tour begins at the rain garden at the Prairie Grass Trailhead in London, OH. Madison SWCD staff and other guest speakers will introduce prairies and describe some of the plants to be found along the trail. This is an 11-mile ride, out and back, at a leisurely pace. The ride is named in honor of Jack McDowell, former SWCD supervisor, who started the annual ride in 2005.
